The Industrial Commission of Arizona recently published an unofficial guide to Proposition 206 (the Fair Wages and Health Families Initiative mandating increased minimum wage pay and mandatory protected sick leave for employees), entitled “Frequently Asked Questions,” providing the public with additional information on the proposition. You can access the FAQs here. It is expected that the Industrial Commission will be releasing further regulations. Employers should begin paying all employees at the new state minimum wage as of January 1, 2017. Protected sick leave is effective July 1, 2017. The lawyers at Faulkner Law Offices, PLLC can help you update handbooks and notices to comply with these new state laws.
