The DOL has issued several recent press releases, including South Florida Truss Manufacturer Pays Back Wages…, regarding employer violations of the paid leave provisions of the Families First Coronavirus Relief Act (FFCRA). Employers should use this as a cautionary tale and ensure they post the Act’s  required notice, Employee Rights, and comply with the obligations to provide paid leave. As a reminder, the FFCRA requires paid leaves for qualified employees in companies of less than 500 employees. Paid leaves may include up to 80 hours of emergency paid sick leave and/or up to 12 weeks of emergency family medical leave.
